      Post Town Straight-Line Hand-Stamps
                       Spanish Town Packet Letters with Type T1a / T1b (PS2 & PS3)

        The smaller two line Post Town handstamp, was in use between 1773 and 1799 and the longer one between 1793 and 1802.

               Both covers rated 1/- in manuscript, which was the single letter packet rate to London (from 1765 to 1797).

       Packet Letter via Kingston, landing at Falmouth and then to London The letter, written early in the French Revolution, is to a
        military colleague, ‘… I long much to be amongst you in the thick of the fun…’, also congratulating him on his promotion.
