The ld on Watennark Crown CC paper was the last of the series to appear, together with the 11- value,
in early 1873. It remained a highly popular denomination throughout its 10 year life.

1883 (8th Apr) parcel post label from Kingston to Barbados, redirected to Grenada. Addressed to
George Baden-Powell (the less famous of the Baden-Powell brothers). The label itself and the franking
of 3 x Crown CC 1 d are both very unusual. It is believed that a fonnal parcel post was not introduced
until October 1885 (between Jamaica and England) and there are no records of an earlier Canl>bean
regional parcel post service. The letter rate to Barbados in 1883 would have been 4d per %oz
