Intelligence Centre
handstamp (RN 1 0) in
purple ink dated 1 i h
October 1941 - the
earliest recorded date
of use.
On the front of the
cover is a 3-line
instructional marking
reading "By British
Packet/in charge
of/Commander"
(RN11), this being the
only example
recorded by Sutcliffe. The cover did not
enter the regular
postal channels, but
was carried by a
British vessel to
Mexico, and
presumably
delivered by hand.
