               This is the earliest recorded item from this small office, which opened in October 1862.  The dispatch
              date-stamp is a previously unrecorded usage of a special. "utility" device sent out in 1858.  This device
               was intended for tempol'81')' use at any office where the pennanent date-stamp was missing, damaged
              or, as in this instance, had not yet arrived from England.  Similar rnatkings, all exCC'A'Jdingly scarce, have
                 been recorded for Clarendon (Apr 1855), Manchioneal (Jul1859) and Dry Harbour (Nov 1860).
