POST OFFICE HANDilOOR.

FILL!XG IN OF ODO&n.
The purchaser of a Postal Order must, before pnrtint; v:ith it. fill in the name of the per-
son to whom the amount is to be paid. and is re~ommended to fill in the name of the Office
of Payment as a. precaution in CMe the Order should be lost or stolen. If the purchaser
does not know which Post Office is most con,•cnient to the payee, he should mscrt the
nnme of the town, villnge or district where the payee resides. The Order will then be
paid at a.ny Post Office in the place named.
COUNT&RFOILS.
Every person to whom a Postal Order is issued should tur off and retain the counterfoil.
Its production will facilitate inquiry if the Order should be lost.

MISCADntAOE on LOSS.
The Postmaster cannot undertake to consider any application respecting a Postal
Order which has miscarried, or n·hich has been lost or destroyed, unless the counterfoil
be ;>roduced. and unless proof be given to his sntisfnction that the name of the payee was
inserted in the Order before the holder parted n·ith it.
After a Postal Order has once been paid, to n·homsoever it is paid, the Postmaster
will not be liable to any further claim.

Before a Postal Order is paid thn name of the payee and th~ name of the office of pay-
ment must have been filled in and the order must b~ properly receip:t.ed.

The sender of a Postal Order c:m obtnio repayment of the amount (but not the pound-
age) on presenting the Order and the Counterfoil at the issuing Office. If the Order
has been crossed for payment through s bank the sender must first cancel the crossing
by ~riting across the face of the Order the words "Please pay cash" and ndding his
initials.

If nny ernsnre or alteration is m:~dc, or if the Order i~ cut, defaced, or mutilnted, payment
mny be refused.

REPLY COUPONS.
Coupons exchangeable for stamps of the value of 25 centimes (2~d.) each in any country
participating in the arrangement can be puchased at t.he Money Ord.cr Office, Kingston,
at t.he price of 3d. ench for the purpose of prepa~-in~ replie.s to letters. The coupons
c:1.n be e~changed by the addressees of such letters at the Post Or!ice of the pbce or desti-
nation for local postage stamps. The countries and colonies included in the system are
indico.ted by nn ~s:erisk • in column 1 or the Table which n.ppcars on pages 39 to 4().
Coupons received from other countries may be exchanged for postage st.nmps at the
G.P.O.
